Wave

Virginia Beach is a place where people intersect with the sea, and have for centuries. WAVE is an accessibly abstract sculpture representing those nautical elements, both natural and manmade.

The artwork is fabricated out of a combination of stainless steel plates and cables – illuminated in the evenings by a slowly changing program of LED lighting.

Surrounding the 38-foot tall sculpture is a reflecting pool, through which water continuously flows. Together, these structures honor Virginia Beach’s unique way of life, and the special relationship that both residents and visitors have always enjoyed with the ocean.
